Let’s talk about Facebook groups. And exactly why you’re not seeing the engagement you would like inside your team, customer, and prospect Facebook groups! What I am going to share with you is what I believe the #1 way to increase engagement inside of your groups!

Why There isn’t much engagement in your Facebook group?

Here’s what I’ve noticed: 98% of the current strategies used by people to hopefully grow their network marketing businesses via Facebook groups is completely ineffective.

Here’s the truth - Most Facebook groups I see solely exist for the purpose of selling and promoting products, services, or business opportunities.

However, if your group exists only for this reason, the people in your community will immediately raise resistance. Most will not only be inactive inside the groups, but honestly, they probably don’t want to even be in the group in the first place!

While people LOVE to buy. They do NOT like to be sold to.

So, I want you to ask yourself: Why does your group exist? What are the problems you want to solve for people?

Instead of only posting product promotions and company events, I want you to really think about what you could post that would truly help people – posts that would add value to people’s lives, help them transform their life, and maybe even entertain them a bit along the way.

People do want to be a part of something bigger! And it is so easier to get them excited about being part of a movement that will change their life vs a Facebook group used to promote a product!

By doing this, you are giving them a reason to show up every day, to be excited to consume the content, and to also engage with your posts by liking, sharing, and commenting!

To learn even more practical strategies and actionable tips that you help you grow your Facebook group engagement, make sure and listen to the complete podcast!

I truly believe as you apply these tips and strategies, you will see the exact results that you’ve been looking for!

This may very well be the most important episode I will ever record on this podcast.

What I am going to share with you today has been something that I’ve believed to be true for some time now with all my heart and soul.

You’ve heard me saying about the concept of legacy leadership and how it is an assignment, a calling, a vehicle to help you carry out your purpose in life.

But, today I’m going to state in a much different way.

My friend, I want to let you know that there is a much bigger reason why you are here.

Your network marketing business is an assignment from God.

There are two parts in this assignment.

The first part of your assignment is to grow as a person and to face your fears.

It’s critical to understand that you only grow through fear. The fear of the unknown and thoughts like, “What if I’m not good enough?” and “What if I’m don’t look good to others?” are the very thoughts that limit you in fulfilling your purpose. Remember that your greatest fears will lead you to your biggest breakthroughs in life and your business.

In the process of facing your fears, you begin to get insight into the unique gifts that you have inside of you. Gifts that you were uniquely designed to have and that are to be utilized in serving other people on this earth.

I’ll quote from Picasso, “The meaning of life is to discover your gift and the purpose of life is to give it away.”

It is time to shift your focus from yourself to that outward focus of serving others. Facing your fears, growing, and walking through them allow you to be a person of service and impact on the other side. It’s during this process that you and your gifts strengthen and grow.

So stop telling yourself that you’re not good enough, because trust me, you are! God doesn’t create junk!

Why should you focus on building a team?

It’s pretty simple.

Building an organization is the ONLY way that you will ever achieve TRUE freedom in your network marketing business.

Yes, you can sell products and still earn additional income to assist your family.

However, true financial and time freedom is only accomplished with a team. Having a team allows you to increase and scale the impact that you can make in the world exponentially. The bigger the team you have, the bigger the impact that you’ll make in your business.  And because money is a reward for the amount of value you give to the world, of course, the more money you will make as well.

The Secret to Motivating Your Team is Leverage

The problem, though, is that leaders are taught to focus on the wrong things in their business.

As a result, they not only struggle growing their business, but they also struggle as a leader.

Here is the secret I want to share with you when it comes to motivating your team – it’s called LEVERAGE!

Leverage is having the power to influence a person or a situation to achieve a particular outcome.

When it comes to creating leverage within an organization, you must understand these two concepts – WIDTH and DEPTH.

Width refers to the people that you personally recruit into your business and this is the first thing that you need to focus when starting a business.

Depth on the other hand, refers to the people that come into your team through the people that you personally recruited. Yes, what naturally happens over time is depth starts to develop but I want you to know that depth is your responsibility. You need to have that “chasing the business” mindset.

As a leader, don’t wait for depth to happen.  Go out and make it happen for yourself. And trust me, when you can build depth in a team it does something very powerful.

If you truly want to reach your full potential, start failing FASTER and MORE OFTEN

I’ve spoken before about something called the ‘Speed of Implementation.’

This simply means that the faster you take action in business or in life, the more you increase your chances of success.

It’s pretty common for each of us to make up excuses or make up stories as to why we’re not ready yet, like, “I’m not good enough,’….or “It needs to be perfect”.

All of these are really just lies that we tell ourselves to justify not our decision to play small and not face our fear of taking action.

However, you must know that the lessons that we learn through our failures are a thousand times more important to us than any one ‘yes’ or successful result will ever be.

When you push past your fears, you grow as a human being.

One of two VERY important things happen when you take action - you either get the result that you wanted…or you get the lesson that you needed to grow as a human being.

Remember, the greatest gift that this profession has to offer any of us, far greater than all the money in the world, is the person that we become as we achieve our dreams.

This is the paradox of failure!  The more we fail…the faster we fail…the more lessons we learn…the more we grow as a person!  The failure is what makes us who we need to be!

So take action!  Implement faster!  Fail more and more!

Because by doing so, you will uniquely develop to accomplish exactly what you were put on this earth to do!

Team Momentum is the Key to Long-Term Success

Have you ever experienced Momentum in your life?  That state of energy, excitement, and action?  In network marketing, we hear a lot about creating momentum.  And I’m often asked if momentum is actually achievable?  Or is it a myth that we chase?  The truth is momentum DOES exist.  And, it can be created by you! There are three types of momentum: personal momentum, company momentum, and team momentum.

Personal momentum is when you are personally seeing results in your business, and this is the first step in creating team momentum. Company momentum is when there is a lot of hype about a company or a product.  A great example of company momentum would be when you’re in a new company that is seeing a lot of at the right time. The third one is team momentum. Of the three, our key focus needs to be on creating team momentum, as team momentum is the key to your long-term success in this business!

If you want freedom in your business as well as long term success, then aim for creating team momentum.

How to Create Team Momentum

As a leader, you must learn to create team momentum in your business. There are three requirements that must be in place to achieve the type of team momentum we all crave in our businesses. One is giving your team a clear outcome or goal to work towards. Second is accountability to achieving those goals. Lastly, there should be transparency within the team.

Also, you must understand the importance of having simple systems in 5 key areas of your business. To create duplication, and as a result momentum, you must have in place simple systems that each and every team member can follow in these 5 areas:  prospecting, opportunity presentation, training new team members, leadership development, and recognizing action and achievement.

Episode Quotes

"The first step to creating team momentum is you must be in personal momentum."

"Slow and steady does not win the race... success loves speed."

"If you want long term and lasting success, team momentum is the only way to get there."

"Team momentum only comes as a result of duplication."

Attraction Marketing Might be Hurting Your Business

There’s a theme that I’ve been noticing a lot lately inside the network marketing industry.

A lot of network marketers do not understand the correct role of attraction marketing within their businesses.

So many people make the mistake of thinking that attraction marketing is actually working their business, when in fact, they’re not!

Attraction marketing is a ‘marketing activity’ – hence it’s name, and marketing does not qualify as actually working your business.

Working your business is the actual prospecting activities that create income and build a team.  It means actively doing your reachouts, follows ups, training new team members, enrolling customers, and exposing new people to your business and products.

Marketing activities create opportunities for you to work your business. It is lead generation.  It is the process of getting your name out there, creating your personal brand, and attracting people to you, sometimes before they even know anything about your company or products.

And the crazy part is some people are spending more time on attraction marketing to avoid facing their fears and doing the actual hard work!

Because they are scared of the rejection and vulnerability that can come from reaching out to people, they hide behind the guise of attraction marketing, pretending instead that they are ‘working their business’ while reading books and creating graphics for their next post.

And then they wonder why their team isn’t growing at all.

Marketing + Prospecting = Results

Marketing alone is not enough. Lead generation is not enough.

You need to reach out, connect, and start a conversation with your leads.

While you must do both marketing activities and prospecting activities s to build a successful team long term, it is absolutely necessary that 70-80% of your time is spent on prospecting activities.

In the end, attraction marketing will expose new people to you and your business opportunity, but unless you’re doing the prospecting activities as well – the reachouts, follow-ups, and new customer enrollments – you will not build the lifestyle of freedom that you crave!

Episode Quotes

"Attraction marketing for a lot of you is actually hurting your business more than it is helping your business."

"Marketing does not qualify as actually working your business."

"Marketing is designed to create opportunities for you to work your business."

"Marketing is passive... prospecting is active."

"If you are only doing marketing but you are not prospecting it's not going to work."

Too Much Training…Is It Possible?

Absolutely, YES!

Consuming too much training is an epidemic in network marketing.

And honestly, it’s not hard at all to see how this can happen!  Every single day we are inundated with opportunities to consume more training material – the blogs, podcasts, Facebook groups, LIVES, company calls and more!

The reality is that people on our teams are spending too many of their precious working hours consuming training material versus the actual productive activities that will result in building a team and generating an income.

They are constantly ‘getting ready’ to start their business instead of actually working the business!

Listening to training has become an approved way to procrastinate on the hard daily activities that are required to build a successful network marketing business!

Our team members are tricking themselves into thinking they are ‘working their business.’

But, in fact, they’re spending countless hours in trainings – and those training hours do not result in the new team members or product sales that they actually need to generate income!

For a lot of people, they sit and listen to trainings so they can avoid the harder daily activities – like reach-outs and follow-ups.

And so many of them don’t even realize what is happening.  They literally feel busy and that they have ‘worked their business.’

Your Responsibility to Your Team: a Time Audit

So now it’s time to ask yourself: Are the people on your own team overwhelmed with too much training?  On average, how much time each week does it take for them to consume the training that is encouraged by you, their leader?  Or by your company?

Take a bit of time this week and perform a Time Audit.  I go through each of the steps in this podcast, and trust me, you will be shocked after you are done!

It is downright eye-opening and shocking how much time can be spent listening to ‘encouraged training.’

As a leader, it is your job to educate team members on the difference between ‘consumption’ and ‘production.’

You must set boundaries, decide which select trainings belong in your training system, enforce the importance of action and productivity, and constantly remind your team members of this.

Remember, less is more when it comes to training.  In this profession, we earn as we learn.  New team members do not need to know everything before they begin building a team.

And as a leader, your goal must be to create a culture of action and production….NOT of consumption.

Everyone has Limiting Beliefs about Money

In all honesty, every single one of us has some type of limiting belief about money.

And most of them were formed during our childhood – before the age of 8 to be exact!

Ever heard your parents or other people say these phrases:

“Money is the root of all evil.”

“Money does not by happiness.”

“The more money you have, the more problems you have.”

If your childhood was anything like mine, you heard these ‘limiting belief statements’ as well. And once these false beliefs are part of your mindset, success will always be an uphill battle!

My Own Journey… and How Important it is to Have Self Worth

Growing up I barely saw my dad because of his work schedule.

I formed this belief that making money is difficult and in order to be successful you have to be willing to sacrifice your personal life and family.

And during school shopping days I remember my mom would say, “What?!!  Do you think we’re rich?”

These words greatly impacted my self-worth. It made me felt wrong to want nice things and that I wasn’t worthy of them.

But you know what?  Your self-worth will build your net worth.

The moment that I established my own self-worth, I also started to master my mindset around money.

5 Steps to Overcoming Your Limiting Beliefs About Money

In this podcast, I teach you the 5 steps you need to take to master your own money mindset.

  1. Identify your limiting beliefs around money
  2. Change your thoughts and be responsible for your thoughts
  3. Change that way you talk about money
  4. Change your beliefs
  5. Reprogramming your mindset, and replace those limiting beliefs

Click HERE to download the 5 Steps to Master Your Money Mindset worksheet!

Again, change will not happen overnight. This may take a while but I know you can do it.

Episode Quotes

The three keywords are… “what something means.”

“Having limiting beliefs around money and success are like trying to drive a car with the parking brake on all the time.”

"Your self-worth will build your net worth."

“Your beliefs will always rise to the surface at some point.  It’s not what you SAY, it’s what you truly BELIEVE to be true that will ultimately rule.”

The Reason Why You Are Stuck in Your Business

Over and over again, I see a consistent theme as to why some leaders get stuck in their business.

Maybe the story sounds familiar to you – you’re taking daily action, you’re reading the personal development books, and no one can keep up with you!  You are ON FIRE!

But…unfortunately, it’s just you.  None of your teammates are doing the same.  They just don’t seem to have the same ‘spark’ that you do.

Here’s the thing - at some point you MUST learn to make the shift from your own personal development to leadership development. If you want long term growth for your business, you need to have leaders in your team.

You’ll only get so far on your own efforts…. That’s where intentional leadership development comes in.

Make That Shift to Leadership Development

When you first begin in network marketing, it is all about developing and growing yourself.  But at some point, you MUST make the switch, take all of that newfound knowledge and wisdom, and begin pouring it into other people on your team.

Do you still remember the concept of ‘Intentional Leadership?’  I talked about it in Episode 65, “Are You An Accidental Leader?” if you need to listen to it.  The people on your team need someone who will challenge them and develop them, somebody who will confront them when they are doing wrong. So what I want you to do is implement the strategies of Intentional Leadership and start pouring into the lives of everyone around you.

Episode Quotes

“You must learn to make the shift from your own personal development to leadership development if you want to create true freedom.”

"If you can move product, you can make money. If you can teach people to move product, you can make a good living. But if you can move people, you can change lives and make a fortune in the process." - Lisa Grossman

"To sustain momentum and growth long term... you must be good at getting others to do what it takes to make the plan work."

“There are a SPECIFIC set of skills in the area of leadership that you need to master if you really want to create freedom in your business.”

“You DO play a role in the success or failure of the people on your team.”

"We are only going to get so far on our own efforts."

“The biggest thing that is missing for people, is they are taking a way too ‘hands off’ approach to the way that they lead their team.”

“Sometimes you must step in as the leader of your team and confront people, tell them things sometimes that they don’t WANT, but NEED to hear in order to get better.”

The Success Equation

Maybe you’ve seen one of these people in your own company…

They come out of the gate fast and furious.  And in a short period of time, they make rank after rank, building a large team with fast momentum along the way.  They’re getting all of the accolades, awards, and attention that you so desperately crave for yourself.

And you think, “What’s their secret?!!  What do they have that I don’t?!!  What are they doing that I’m not?!!”

The truth of the matter is that there absolutely is a success equation that determines how fast you will see success in network marketing.

Your Personal Growth x Quality of Your Relationships x Your Intensity of Effort = Business Results

But the great thing is that YOU have 100% control over the three parts of this ‘success equation!’

The More YOU Grow, the More Your Business Grows

First of all, stop comparing YOUR growth with others. The truth is, your journey is YOURS, and it's going to be different for each and every single one of you.

But what you also need to know is that to grow your business, all you need to do is intentionally and daily grow in each of these three areas.

Your business grows when you intentionally develop your leadership skills.

Your business grows when you intentionally give and develop a ‘relational account’ with every person in your life.

Your business grows when you truly begin to show up in your business with excitement and enthusiasm.

You see the most exciting part of all of this, is that no matter how bad you’ve been, you can turn this around TODAY and start tipping the scales in your favor.

Episode Quotes

“Network marketing is a personal development program with a compensation plan attached.”

“The quality of the relationships around you in your life have a massive impact on results.”

“You will either reap the rewards or pay the price of the life that you’ve lived prior to joining your network marketing business.”

“You still have to show up every day and demonstrate an INTENSITY to your effort that shows you really are committed to success.”

“Your network marketing business is an assignment from the universe to help you evolve and grow as a human being.”

“The first step to getting where you want to go in your business, is first acknowledging the reality of where you are.”

Fear Disappears When You Focus on Serving Others

Do you have what I like to call “success mindset?”

“Success mindset” is when all you can think about is what YOU can get from the business. Oftentimes leaders have this “success mindset.”

And unfortunately, ‘success mindset’ doesn’t just build ego…it also builds fear.

Leaders with this mindset don’t try new things because they are afraid of failure. But this is exactly how you should NOT operate!

If you want to defeat fear, focus on serving others. Shift to building a legacy of leadership.  Shift to impacting the world by transforming the lives of other people.

Whatever Fear You Have Right Now, That is What You Are Meant to Do

Join me in this episode, as I share with you a story about my own early days in network marketing.  Let’s just say, I was a disaster.

I was scared of so many things!

But everything changed and that fear disappeared when I became crystal clear about my own purpose - that I am here to help people be successful.  I am here to transform lives…and you are too.

Episode Quotes

"When your business is focused on serving others, the power of fear over you begins to disappear."

"Stop focusing on yourself and begin focusing on others."

"Our greatest fears often times are simply a reflection of the greatest gifts inside of us."

"Fear is a call from the universe to guide you to your true purpose."

When ‘the Good’ Becomes ‘the Enemy of Great’

What’s up everybody, welcome to Episode 86. Today I’ve got a powerful message especially for those of you who are feeling stuck!  It’s called “Beware of the ‘Good Enough’ Plateau.”

Here is the thing - some of us, especially when we’ve already experienced a bit of success in our business, tend to stay in the same ol’ place.  Over and over again, we do the same things, and they produce the same ol’ results.

You need to know, this is a MAJOR reason why most leaders are stuck in their business. Maybe we just can’t seem to get to that next level.  Or our income seems to stay the same month-over-month-over month.

Externally, we look successful to our family and friends, but inside we know that there’s more to accomplish in your life and business.  But we’re so stuck…

Unfortunately, we get to a certain ‘success’ point in building our business and then ego starts to creep in.  We become unwilling to try new things. We tend to stop venturing into new ways of conducting our business that will grow ourselves personally and our team, too.

This is when ‘the good’ becomes ‘the enemy of great.’

Set Aside Your Ego and Reinvent Yourself

If you want your business to build a legacy and impact others, then you need to learn to stretch yourself, venture into new areas, and take the risk of not looking good from the people around you.

So, join me in this episode as I share my own story.  Learn how you can reinvent yourself!  Scare yourself!  Challenge yourself!  -- and grow your business along the way.

Episode Quotes

"One of the traps of the good enough plateau is ego starts to creep in."

"If you want to make a massive impact in the world, you must continue to stretch yourself and venture into the land of uncertainty."

"We must learn to reinvent ourselves if we want to go to that next level in our life."

"Your confidence cannot be tied to your competence if you want to reach your full potential."

"Focus on who you need to be not what you need to do."

Comparing yourself with others kills your authenticity

Have you ever found yourself comparing what you’re doing in your business to the people around you, and falling into the negative space of ‘comparitis’?  I know that I’ve been guilty of that in my own business.  What I’ve noticed is that the more I look at what other people are doing, it starts to create negative thoughts and energy in my own mind. I always look at what others are doing, and wonder if what I’m doing is good enough.  What I’ve found over time, is this actually begins to kill your own authenticity.

It’s time to create some space for you to be yourself

I once heard on a podcast called ‘Making Oprah’, where Oprah was asked how she maintained her own authenticity, with all the competition that was popping up on daytime TV.  I thought her answer was so profound.  She simply said that they had this policy called “Stay in Your Own Lane”.  She said that she never once ever watched a single episode of her competitors.  That answer literally floored me… and it empowered me to make a decision that has had a profound effect on my life.  I stopped paying attention to what everyone else around me was doing, and started to create pace for me to be who I really am, and create authentic content on social media.

So join me in this episode as I share to you some action plans on how to do that, how I got inspiration from other people outside my space, and finally, how to be confident and be yourself.

Episode Quotes

"Anytime I started taking my eye off the ball in my own court and looking what other people were doing... it created a lot of negative energy in my head"

"Stay in your own lane... I never in my life watched a single episode of one of our competitors" - Oprah

"The best compliment I can ever get from someone is this - 'You are not like anyone else that does this'"

"Start creating some space for you to be yourself because you are good enough"

In this episode, I’ll be giving you some tips on how to avoid burnout and overwhelm, on how to build a business around your life and not the opposite.  I'll go over how critical resting and renewal is to the success of your business.

I’ll begin by sharing with you a trend that I see with a lot of leaders around me. I’ve noticed that they are not self-caring when it comes to building their business and the type of business they are building. This often leads to burnout, ruining family relationships and even affecting their personal health. Yes, our goal is freedom and success, but what good is success if it ruins other aspects of our lives?

If you carefully implement the tips in this podcast, then I believe that you’ll achieve positive lifestyle outcomes.

Tip #1: Start leveraging the power of technology

- The technology is already available for us; all we need to do is use it to our advantage. I suggest that you embrace things like doing a live video and hone your skills in marketing on social media.

Tip #2: Be more intentional about developing leaders on your team

- As leaders, we usually have this mindset that we must be on available 24/7. The catch is, to serve your team at the highest level you must become less available to them. Start working with your team and focus more on leadership development.

Tip #3: Be intentional about scheduling your business hours

- You need to set a dedicated time for work hours as well as family or self-time. Yes, you must be flexible in the needs of the business, but at the same time create those boundaries. Learn to create boundaries around your work and your personal life. Have that time of rest or simply a dedicated time with yourself, your spouse or your children.

In order for you to avoid burnout, understand the importance of rest and renewal, learn the importance of being intentional in your business, work smart and think about positive lifestyle outcomes.

In this 5-minute Friday episode, I will be sharing about Speed of Implementation.

Speed of implementation is basically the willingness to take what you learn and implement it by taking action; and this is one thing I notice successful people doing. On the other hand, this is also the number one reason others are struggling. They are just too slow to implement what they know and learn.

Most of us have a false assumption that people are decisive because they have it all figured it out. Well, here’s the thing, they take action because it’s the only way they’re going to figure things out. Stop waiting until you feel ready because you will never feel ready. It’s all about testing. Knowing what’s going to work and what’s not going to work.

The reality is, some people are going to say YES, and some are going to say NO, but that’s OK. Don’t let fear hinder you, and when you start to doubt, that’s the time you take action.

Here is my challenge:

First, write down three things that you’re going to implement in the next 7 days. Second, consume less and do more in the next 7 days. It’s time to take action and put into play what it is that you've learned.

Today's episode is a special interview with John Melton. I am very thrilled to have John on the show today because I know he will be sharing a lot of valuable insights about social media marketing.

Truth be told, there are a lot of social media marketers struggling in their business. There a a couple problems they have in common.  One would be that they do not create enough generic value to attract people.  Another would be that they’re just thinking about themselves and what they can get from the business. So, in this episode, John will be sharing the 5 Steps to Building Your Home Business Empire.

  1. Prospecting and Attracting Leads

Your goal is to set up your online presence, so you need to create one piece of valuable content every day. In order to create a following, you need to post something that creates curiosity. Share something inspirational, or contents that you have read in a book. You can also set your brand. What do you want people to know for?

  1. Connecting with Leads

Once you have those leads, you must connect with them. Build relationships with those people who like, comment or engage with your posts. But the key thing is, don’t be pushy. You want to be human first, marketer second; build that social equity with your contacts.

  1. Inviting People to Look at Your Product/Business

After building rapport with your leads, you can then make an offer. But again, don’t be pushy. You are there to give them information that will help them with their problems. Share your testimony on how the business or product changed your life. Face your fear of making an offer, just be bold in sharing what’s going on.

  1. Follow Up and Close

Following up is another essential key in building your home business empire. An effective way of doing this is creating a group chat for those people that are open and want to stay in touch. Have a group chat for those that are interested in your business/product because your prospects need to also meet other people within your circle.

  1. Teaching Them How to Master the 4 Steps

The end goal is to be able to teach these steps to the new clients. Again, it’s all about legacy leadership; helping people changed their lives and reaching their full potentials.

Apr 6, 2018

In this episode, I talk about the difference between a leader and a top performer. We usually have a notion that these two are synonymous, but the truth is, not all top performers are leaders and you don’t necessarily have to be a top performer to be a leader.

Top performers aim for results but leaders aren’t judged by their results. Leaders are judged by looking at their team.

So what are the qualities of a leader?

1. They lead by example

- What are you doing today to lead your organization? Leaders should be models, especially on the way they lead. As a leader, you must be intentionally working with your team.

2. They help lift up the people in their team

- Again, legacy leadership. It’s all about developing others in your team. Take the spotlight off of you and put your people on stage. Leaders get more joy when their people win.

So, are you a leader or a top performer?

The reason why most people struggle in network marketing is because they are taught to focus on the wrong things. Network marketers have this “Success Mindset”, wherein they focus more on personal gain and what they can get from their network marketing business. Don’t get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with having success goals, but if that’s your final destination, then you will see yourself struggling with prospecting people.

Somebody asked me, “What would you consider to be an effective Facebook prospecting post?” I thought about it, and understanding the concept of Legacy Leadership, a better question would be, “What would be the best thing for me to post on Facebook to help me make the biggest impact?”

Actually, social media has shifted to quality over quantity. In other words, posting your stuff and inviting people every day to join your business doesn’t work anymore. So, in this episode, I’m going to share with you a business strategy that you can apply to be successful in prospecting.

I have this concept called “Learning Out Loud”, and it focuses more on impact over income, quality over quantity. So anytime you hear, read or learn something that educates and empowers you, all you need to do is share that content with others on social media. Your goal is to enhance people’s lives by what you share. And the moment you share something that has value to someone, you immediately become valuable to them. This then creates that connection and relationship, and we all know a successful prospecting is born of that relationship.

Stop thinking like a customer, and start thinking like a marketer. Marketers think everything around us is potential content to share with others.

So here is my challenge for you: Start to share that quote that inspired your life, the strategies you heard on podcasts or read in a book. Get those old notebooks that you’ve accumulated and find something in there that you can share with someone else. Remember, teaching is the fastest way to success.

Welcome to another episode of 5-minute Friday. Today, I will be talking about how to effectively prospect people for your network marketing business.

Let me start with this, “People are not looking for opportunities, they are looking for solutions.”

The reality is, most of our prospects already have busy lives; they have jobs, they businesses, and they have family obligations. Basically, they don’t need another opportunity that will consume their time. What they need are solutions to the everyday problems that they have in their lives.

So here is my suggestion: Instead of coming to them as a salesperson, act more as a consultant. Determine what their needs are. Start asking questions. Know their problems, listen to them, and determine what is missing. Think like a doctor. You are there to prescribe solutions.

One of the biggest misconceptions when it comes to building a successful business is the idea of finding leaders and superstars to be part of a team. We get frustrated when our team doesn’t have the same level of commitment that we do, and we often go out and try to find the best leaders. Well, the truth is, you can build your business without having a person just like you. You don’t need to magically find leaders. You can help to create them.

In this episode, I'm going to share with you how to shift your focus from personal development to leadership development. I will also leave you with some action plans on how to increase your leadership level and how to grow your team.

I suggest that you stop spending all your time trying to find leaders, and instead keep focusing on your existing team. Your people have all the skills, excitement and character. All you need to do is to challenge them in a way that leads to their growth. Stop blaming and start leading them so they can reach their full potential.

John Maxwell has this idea called “The Leadership Lid”. It basically means that the level of your team depends on YOU. You attract what you are. Let’s say you have a leadership level of 5. In that case, you will most attract people on that level or below that level. You are the common denominator in the development of your team.

Of course, as leaders, we don’t want that to happen. So here is my question for you: What do you need to start doing today?

Here are some action plans that will help you increase your leadership level:

1. Make an honest assessment of where you are in your leadership

The best way to do this is by looking at your team. Your team is a great reflection of who you are as a leader. Ask yourself, are you guiding them every step of the way? Are you challenging them and giving them that confidence?

2. Start seeing the greatness of each and every one in your team

The reality is, people show up based on how you see them. You need to start looking at your people in terms of who can they become, not who they are. See their potential, their talents, then start to lead, inspire and empower them to reach their full potential.

My challenge to you:

Start the process of increasing your leadership level and ability. Focus on leadership development. Focus on impact over income, and trying to make a difference in the lives of others.

I tell you, there is no greater joy than seeing your team growing and their lives being changed because of you.

The reality is, that most of us don’t believe we have something valuable to offer. We think that nobody cares about the content we share. But, let me tell you this, every single one of us has information that can change someone’s life if we are just willing to share it.

In this episode, I am going to challenge you to go out there, share your content, and do a Facebook Live Video. It’s time to break those lies in your mind that tell you that you don’t have something valuable to offer. Don’t let that fear hinder you from achieving your success. It doesn’t matter if you haven’t earned a dollar yet. If your content helps and inspires, then that’s what matters.

Here is the thing; money is a reflection of two things: Value that you put into the marketplace and the amount of people you serve on a daily basis. Doing Facebook Live video is going to escalate these two things. It’s going to create the best version of you, add value to others and get your message in front of more people.

Most of you are probably already using Facebook groups in some way to build your network marketing business. Whether it’s a ‘VIP Customer Group’ or some type of ‘Team Training Group’. The biggest issue that I see happening for people that are running these Groups, is that there is very little to no member engagement. The poor engagement inside the Group usually also means that you’re not seeing much in the way of results.

In today’s episode I’m going to give you a blueprint to change that… starting right now. In my opinion, Facebook Groups are one of the best tools that we have as network marketers to make more product sales, and get more recruits. IF you use them properly. I’ve found that very few people actually know how to run their Groups the right way… and that’s why they’re not seeing any results.

I’m going to teach you how to run your Groups the RIGHT WAY in this training, and if you implement what you learn, you’re going to 10x your results.

Here are some of my top tips that you’ll learn in this episode:

Do not use your company name in the group name, branding or image
The goal is to build a community in the Group that has value far beyond just your products or services. Create the Group concept around some bigger mission or purpose that is tied to your products. This way it will be easier to attract like-minded people, and they will actually stick around for the community.

Open the Group up to your team to join and invite their prospects
This may sound crazy, but here is the thing, what makes more sense: dozens of people in your team having smaller ineffective Groups, or putting together one really well run group? I’ll go into more detail in the episode why I think this is a critical strategy for success.

Film a "Welcome Video" inside your group
Create a ‘Welcome Video’ that welcomes all new members, explains the overall mission and purpose of the Group, and encourages them to become active members. This is the ‘first impression’ of anyone that is added to the Group. It sets the tone for everything else that happens for them as a member.

Make sure you’re creating generic valuable content
Make sure 70 - 80% of the content you create isn’t making a sale or a promotion. Focus on creating content that educates, entertains, and empowers the members. This is very important if you want to increase the member engagement. Give them a reason to show up in the Group every single day.

Run challenges inside of the group
This is by far my number 1 tip to help you grow your group FAST, increase member engagement, and make more product sales. I’ll go through step-by-step how to do this in the episode.

My final word to you is this… if what you’re doing is already working then there’s no need to make major changes. Take some of the ideas in this episode and make what you’re doing even better. But if what you’re doing isn’t producing consistent sales, recruits and growth then be open to the fact that there may be a better way.

Mar 16, 2018

It’s great to have you on our very first special episode (5-minute Friday). This is a shorter version of our regular podcasts, and this is happening every Friday. Today’s episode is all about the question for leaders: “Are you overwhelming your team?”

One of the biggest mistakes that I see leaders making, is overwhelming their team with too many things to do each week when it comes to training. A lot of times it happens gradually over time, and we never even recognize this problem. There’s multiple Facebook Groups they’re in, multiple training calls to get on every week, and we recommend to follow this person and that person online. Before we know it, our people are spending hours and hours every week ‘getting ready to go to work’, but never actually working!

The first step as the leader of your team is you must step back and take a look at everything you’re asking your team to do on a weekly basis. Understand that if you make something ‘available’ to them, it’s likely that they’ll participate. It’s the path of least resistance really. So decide what is , and what isn’t important. Your people should be focusing 80% of their time actually working (that means prospecting, presenting, following-up and enrolling people).

As the leader you must become fanatical about protecting your people’s time. Give them clear direction on what they should and shouldn’t be doing. Protect them from the barrage of information and training that you know is going to be thrown at them. Constantly be reinforcing what they should and should not be doing. Keep them focused on taking ACTION.

Create a culture on your team where there’s a simple, clear system for training and support… and one where action is celebrated and recognized.

Episode Summary

Welcome to Episode 74.  Today we’re going to talk about How to Eliminate Negative Self-Talk. As we have previously shared, negative thoughts are a big reason why many don’t succeed. In this episode we’re going to dive deeper into the power of thinking and taking responsibility of these thoughts.

As Winston Churchill said, “The price of greatness is responsibility”.  The same thing goes with our thoughts. We have the power to choose them.

I am going to show you some steps to follow that will help you gain control over your thoughts.

STEP 1: Be aware of the thoughts in your mind

- Start to raise the awareness of your thinking. Know what you think most of the time. Is it negative or positive?

STEP 2: Take responsibility of these thoughts

- Remember the concept about the “garden” and the “weed”. You must pull the weeds (negative thoughts) so that they will not overpower the garden. Discipline your mind to focus on the positive. Water your dreams and your goals with positive thinking.

Here is another example.  If you believe that you’re unworthy of success, then your mind starts to kick in and you’ll look for confirmation of that belief.  So, instead of thinking that you don’t deserve success, start to look for proof of your worthiness; know your talents. Overcome your fear and cross over that chicken line.  Start looking for the small wins along the road of success.

Another way to take responsibility of your thoughts is learning to be grateful.  If you want to be more motivated in your business, gratitude is the gateway drug to motivation.

Again, it all starts in your mind.  What are the thoughts that you’re entertaining on a daily basis?  Always remember that change doesn’t happen overnight. You need to have some patience. Give yourself the time to make things better.

Here is what I want you to do:  Spend the entire next couple of days really paying attention to your thoughts. I want you to focus on the positive on every situation.  It’s time for you to stand guard at the door of your mind.

Feb 7, 2018

In this episode we’re going to be talking about fear. Many of you already know what you should be doing to be successful in your network marketing business, but for some reason, you’re either not doing it or you are not doing it consistently. You may be feeling discouraged and stuck, and I’m going to explain why you’re feeling this way. I’m also going to give you a framework and process to help you start facing your fears to create the breakthrough you’re looking for.

If you’re feeling stuck in your business, there’s most likely one big reason: you have been unwilling to face the greatest fears that you have in your business. The things that we avoid and know we’re supposed to do are oftentimes the things that we fear the most.

I want to introduce you to something called Creative Interpretations. Whenever we face our greatest fears, we make up a STORY around that very thing that is scaring us. That does one of two things:

1 - It keeps you from taking the action, and justifies you playing small and not facing your fears, called a Red Light.

Or 2 - Or you will make up a story about that particular event or situation that will empower you to feel the fear and take the action anyway, be courageous, which is called a Green Light.

The difference between successful people and people that fail is not that they don’t feel fear - it’s that they make up different stories that empower them to be courageous.  They condition themselves to always look at the positive.

I want you to catch yourself the next time you create a negative story that makes you stop at a red light. I want you to force yourself to look at the positives and tell yourself why you NEED to be doing what you’re doing.

Every time you face a fear and play small, it kills your enthusiasm, belief, and confidence. And that’s why some of you are so stuck. The moment you make the decision to do it a different way and start creating green lights, you grow - even if the results aren’t there in the beginning.

It’s not going to be easy - it will take dedicated practice. However if you do this long enough, you’ll condition yourself to do it from the positive instead of the negative.

Here’s what matters: the person you become in the process of overcoming your fears. That is the greatest gift that you will be offered through this business.

Hopefully you get a ton of value out of the training, feel free to share the episode with anyone that you think it could help!
