One of the biggest traps I see so many struggling network marketers fall into is this → 

They rely WAY too much on social media for their business.

So they’re posting constantly, focusing almost all of their time on creating content, growing their following …

In this week’s Biz Tip Friday, I'll be sharing my Top 5 business productivity apps.

These are ones that many of you have never heard of but absolutely need in your business whether it’s for social media content, managing prospect flow, scheduling, communication etc.

#1 Trello (www.trello.com)

Trello is a project management platform. You can use it for managing and keeping track of prospects, project management, and content planning for social media.

#2 Slack (www.slack.com)

Slack is a team communication platform that allows you to set up channels for leadership groups, challenge groups, daily accountability, etc. I think of it as replacing email.

#3 Community (www.community.com)

Community is a text messaging or text marketing platform that allows you to create a very powerful, intimate, direct way of communication with customers, team members, and prospects.

#4 Bomb Bomb (www.bombbomb.com)

Bomb Bomb is a video email marketing platform which I use to record videos right on my phone and send it by TEXT or EMAIL. It’s best used for recognition for team members, customers, prospects - appreciation, etc.

#5 Voxer (www.voxer.com)

Voxer is a walkie talkie voice messaging app. I LOVE this app because I can do real time voice communication for individual coaching and support with new recruits and leaders.

We are smack dab in the middle of the craziness that is election season, and when someone shares opinions you passionately disagree with ... what will you do?

How many of you have watched SOOOO many people come and go from their network marketing business?  And like myself, have you started to wonder WHY?

Why do so many people fail in network marketing?

The answer is quite simple -- these people treat network marketing as a HOBBY.

‘The Hobbyist’ is the overwhelmed, overworked, and underpaid network marketer, trying to ‘do it all,’ but feeling totally confused, and not able to produce any real, consistent results.

The Hobbyist thinks, ‘Let me give this a try and see if it works…’

The hobbyist is not willing to COMMIT to the process of building a business and put in the necessary time and effort in the right activity during the early stages.

Here are some of the main characteristics that describe The Hobbyist:

  • Struggles with recruiting and building a team
  • Fear and overwhelm are their 2 biggest enemies
  • They possess a Sales Mindset in their business
  • Focus most of their time on social media (think it IS their business)
  • Held back by their past, no clear vision for their future
  • Constantly dealing with self-doubt and comparitis
  • Spends too much time consuming training and not enough time taking action

I bet that many of you can identify with AT LEAST 1 of these things. If so, there’s a VERY GOOD chance you’re stuck in the Hobbyist Role in your business.

How do you get out of The Hobbyist Role that’s been keeping you stuck for so long?

You need to make the shift to being a REAL BUSINES OWNER.

What is the most powerful tool that you as a leader can use to motivate your team?

RECOGNITION.

Believe it or not, but recognition is actually a stronger motivator than money for many people,  especially when they’re first starting out.

If you’re struggling to get results – chances are you have the WRONG idea about confidence…

One of the biggest mistakes (misconception) that people have about confidence is they believe that it’s something that you’re born with, that it’s part of your DNA.

The truth is, it’s NOT.

Confidence is nothing more than a belief. It is something that you generate through your thoughts and beliefs.

But, here’s the mistake that we as network marketers often make →

We let our self-confidence depend on our past and present results.

I’m curious – can you relate to this …? →

You have a great month in your business, and you’re on top of the world.

Maybe this even happens for a few months in a row!

Then this happens…you have a TERRIBLE month.

No one signs up, your team volume starts to slip backwards, you even lose a qualification or drop back a rank.

I get this question A LOT: Should I be leading with my product or business opportunity?

In order to do this, I’ll first break down two categories of people in your team.

  1. BRAND NEW person – the people on your team that are just starting out and have been in the business 30 days or less

  2. EVERYONE else - the people on your team that have been team members for MORE than 30 days

To answer the question, I want to say that you can honestly do EITHER and see success in this business.

However, it is easier for a new team member to launch their business by acquiring customers first vs team members.  This gets them a few quick successes from the very start!

As a team member grows in confidence and skill, then they can lead with the business opportunity.

Are some of your prospects ‘ghosting’ you?

You have prospects who are interested in the business, they have watched your 3rd party tools, but when you call and message them - NOTHING!

So, you follow up on Facebook.  You know they’ve seen your message.  But still - NO REPLIES.

Or even worse….you see the 3 dots, like they’re responding - and yet NOTHING!

It’s SO frustrating, right?

And what ends up happening is we then create a Red Light Story in our minds that keeps us stuck with fear.

But, this is what I need you to understand: Prospecting is like DATING.

It’s a constant balancing act between pursuing someone and not coming across as desperate. Sometimes you must be willing to just walk away.
